Wildfire Services Group, LLC helps property owners in the wildland urban interface prepare for the next wildfire and recover from the last. We are a wildfire risk assessment, mitigation, and maintenance services company partnering with private, commercial, and municipal clients, insurance professionals, contractors, and fire agencies to provide services before and after wildfires in Northern California.
Position Summary
The Wildfire Services Technician, Field Operations works under the supervision of the Supervisor, Field Operations to execute wildfire mitigation projects.
The Wildfire Services Technician has completed the following certifications: S-130, S-212, WFAP. This training and certification enables the Technician to understand wildfire hazards on and around the parcel. The goal of every mitigation project is to identify and mitigate risk in order to prepare for a wildfire in 3 main areas - vegetation management, home hardening, and values at risk. Successful candidates have 2-years of relevant experience, have completed or are working toward a 4-year college degree, and enjoy working outdoors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Hands on vegetation maintenance with hand and power tools
timber marking, stand exams
prescribed burning
facilities work and compound maintenance.
marking boundaries for thinning/fuels reduction contracts
Qualification Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills
Highly developed communication skills - in-person, written, and telephone
Experience with or willingness to learn use of hand and power tools
Landscaping, construction or other skilled trade work desired
Physical Demands
Must have valid drivers license and the ability to drive to assessments in Marin, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, Mendocino, and Lake Counties
Must be able to work outside for long periods of time
Must be able to hike long distances on mixed terrain
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Travel Requirements
Mitigation projects occur throughout Northern California. Extended travel may be required.
Compensation
90-day trial period
Hourly pay DOE
Reimbursement for mileage at $0.56/mile and
Reimbursement for PPE up to $250
Reimbursement for certifications up to $1200
